The Test Manager for Identity & Access Management (IAM) is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of all testing activities related to Access Management system deliveries. This includes validating end-to-end identity lifecycle process use cases regardingintegrations and workflows. The Test Manager ensures that all IAM solutions-such as authentication, authorization, SSO, MFA, and provisioning components-meet quality, compliance, and security standards before release into production

Key Responsibilities

Test Strategy & Planning

  • Create and maintain the test strategy for IAM system deliveries, covering functional, integration, regression, and security-related testing.
  • Translate IAM requirements into structured test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
  • Define test scope, timelines, dependencies, and entry/exit criteria

Test Coordination & Execution

  • Coordinate and execute testing activities across multiple IAM platforms (e.g., Identity Governance, Access Management, Directory Services, Authentication Services).
  • Conduct end-to-end testing for onboarding/offboarding (JML), provisioning, de-provisioning, SSO/MFA flows, and privileged access requests.
  • Manage defect reporting, triage, prioritization, and retesting together with developers, IAM engineers, and vendors.

Quality Assurance & Risk Management

  • Ensure testing covers both functional quality and security impacts.
  • Maintain high-quality test documentation that supports compliance and audits.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Collaborate with IAM architects, security teams, and project managers.
  • Guide business stakeholders during User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including access request validation.
  • Communicate test progress, risks, and readiness for go-live to management

Tooling

  • Utilize test management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira for planning and reporting.
  • Standardize IAM-specific test templates, test data sets, and reusable test assets.
  • Promote continuous improvement in testing practices within the IAM delivery and operations teams

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Strong background in test management within IAM, cybersecurity, and/or enterprise IT environments.
  • Solid understanding of IAM concepts:
    • Authentication (SSO, MFA, federation)
    • Authorization (RBAC, ABAC, policy-based access control)
    • Provisioning/De-provisioning
    • Identity lifecycle management (JML)
    • Privileged Access
    • Application onboarding
  • Experience with IAM platforms (e.g., SailPoint, Azure AD/Entra ID, CyberArk).
  • Proficiency with test management tooling.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and documentation skills

Preferred

  • ISTQB certification.
  • Experience in Agile/DevOps environments.
  • Familiarity with security and regulatory frameworks (ISO, NIST, SOX, GDPR).
  • Experience working with vendors and managed IAM service providers
