Technical Delivery Lead - End of Life Applications

6-Month contract - Inside IR35 - £550-£600 per day

London based - hybrid working - 2 days a week onsite

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the delivery of End-of-Life (EoL) remediation initiatives within the Bank, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategic priorities.
  • Define and agree approaches and how EoL will be mitigated in different scenarios, e.g. technical upgrade or more involved re-architecture/re-design versus where we might be able to risk accept in a planned initiative will mitigate the risk in the short term.
  • Lead and co-ordinate governance meetings and tracking including risk, issue and dependency management. Monitor progress and provide clear, data-driven updates to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with accountable owners, development, infrastructure and test teams to define, prioritise, and deliver product backlogs and roadmaps.
  • Ensure delivery milestones and timelines are adhered to.
  • Maintain effective communication across business stakeholders, technology teams, and external partners.
  • Provide timely updates to the COO/Control and Audit teams. Ensure remediation plans are accurately reflected and tracked in Archer by L1 delivery teams.
  • Ensure the resourcing of this work is sufficient to meet the agree plans.
  • Define a EoL remediation model that continues beyond the mitigation of the current book of work; ensure that teams understand the importance of managing EoL risk.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Hands on leader with proven ability to execute and drive outcomes across a matrix team.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Delivery Lead for EoL projects within IT, preferably in a banking or financial services environment.
  • Experience managing multiple technology initiatives/projects across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Ability to drive accountability for remediation across many teams at the same time.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with project management and Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps).
  • Excellent delivery tracking and co-ordination of resources.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Experience working in regulated environments and understanding of relevant compliance requirements.
