Front-End Developer (Remote, UK)

About Aero

A digital experience company, we sit at the intersection of insights, creativity and technology, crafting digital experiences that transform business performance.

We’re a small, fully remote team with big ambitions. We work hands-on with our clients, giving our teams genuine ownership of their work. Every project you touch will be seen by thousands of people and will directly influence how high-profile brands connect with their audiences.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for a front-end developer who’s motivated, curious, and excited to create impactful e-commerce experiences. You’ll be joining at an early stage, which means plenty of opportunity to shape how we work, grow your skills, and leave your mark.

If you care about craftsmanship, love solving complex problems, and want to work directly with well-known brands, we’d love to hear from you.

Experience

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • 2-3+ years of experience working in a web development agency or in-house for a brand
  • Experience developing for Shopify or a similar e-commerce platform
  • Strong knowledge of modern JavaScript
  • Ability to write well-structured, semantic, and accessible HTML
  • Confidence writing framework-agnostic, performance-focused JavaScript
  • Awareness of WCAG accessibility guidelines
  • Solid understanding of front-end performance best practices
  • Strong attention to detail when building polished, complex interactions
  • A positive, problem-solving mindset and broad technical curiosity
  • Experience with modern web tooling (transpilers, linters, build and CI tools, etc.)
  • Good Git knowledge and ability to collaborate in a dev team
  • Awareness of modern and emerging browser APIs
  • Familiarity with progressive enhancement principles

Nice to have

Not essential, but any of these would be a bonus:

  • Experience with a front-end/full-stack framework like React or Remix
  • Experience with a back-end language, framework, or backend platform like Supabase
  • Experience setting up or running A/B tests
  • Experience building with a headless CMS
  • Previous agency experience, delivering websites for multiple clients
  • Deep knowledge in one or more areas such as animation, performance, or accessibility

Benefits

  • Fully remote, forever - work from anywhere in the UK, with flexible hours
  • Personal development time and budget to help you hone your skills
  • Generous annual leave - 28 days + bank holidays
  • Top equipment - high-spec Apple machine provided
  • Salary DOE - competitive for your level of experience
