About the Company

We’re working with a well-established UK consulting firm with a strong presence in the mid-market, delivering high-quality advisory, transformation and data-led solutions. With a clear growth trajectory and ongoing investment in its consulting capability, it offers a great platform for individuals looking to build a long-term career in a client-facing, delivery-focused environment.

About the Role

As a Senior Consultant within the Business Transformation team, you’ll design and deliver modern, cloud-based data solutions and advise clients on their current data landscape and maturity — shaping data strategies and future roadmaps.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating requirements gathering workshops across business areas to agree objectives, use cases, and data needs
  • Supporting the development of data solutions aligned to business objectives, balancing best practice with client requirements
  • Providing guidance on data governance and strategy, including frameworks and policies to improve data maturity
  • Managing delivery across multiple workstreams / engagements, supporting junior team members and structured engineering practices
  • Designing, building and optimising end-to-end data pipelines (ingestion, transformation, orchestration) using SQL and Python
  • Embedding strong engineering disciplines: Git, CI/CD, release management via Azure DevOps
  • Contributing to pre-sales through proposal support, solution shaping and client-facing materials

Qualifications

  • Strong academic record (ideally a relevant degree: computer science, software engineering, data engineering/analytics, information systems)
  • 4+ years’ experience delivering data engineering / data platform engagements (ideally in professional services / consulting)

Required Skills

  • Hands-on experience with modern cloud data platforms, including Microsoft Fabric and Azure Databricks
  • Strong understanding of Azure data services and integration systems (e.g. Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake) and how they complement Fabric/Databricks
  • Practical experience with Spark / PySpark (desirable but strong Spark experience counts)
  • Experience implementing platform security practices (secure connectivity, secrets management, RBAC concepts) aligned to client policies
  • Experience implementing data quality controls and validation checks, plus producing clear documentation for traceability and handover
  • Confident leading workshops and engaging stakeholders at all levels — able to explain complex ideas to non-technical audiences
  • London-based or willing to travel to London fortnightly

Preferred Skills

  • Proposal writing / business development experience (bids and client presentations)
  • Certifications: Azure Data Engineer / Fabric Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer / Databricks fundamentals

Pay range and compensation package

Fortnightly travel to London required.
