Senior Project Support Officer (PMO) - SC Cleared
AgileSource are seeking a Senior Project Support Officer to support a major government transformation programme within a UK public sector environment.
The role of the Senior Project Support Officer (PMO) covers a diverse range of activities supporting the successful delivery of programme and project objectives. Working closely with the PMO Manager and wider programme team, you will play a key role in maintaining effective governance, project controls, reporting, planning, risk management, resource coordination and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Support the PMO Manager in the day-to-day operation of the Programme Management Office.
- Ensure appropriate project controls, governance frameworks and reporting processes are maintained.
- Develop, maintain and monitor programme plans, schedules, milestones and dependencies.
- Produce timely and accurate management information, dashboards and performance reports.
- Manage RAID activities, including risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies, escalating where appropriate.
- Support resource and workforce planning activities across the programme.
- Maintain programme documentation, governance records and audit trails.
- Contribute to the preparation of programme boards, steering groups and governance forums.
- Monitor programme expenditure and support budget management activities.
- Assist with procurement activities and supplier engagement within delegated authority limits.
- Support the development and maintenance of business cases and project documentation.
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies relating to security, health and safety, equality and diversity, business continuity and business planning.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Draft high-quality briefing papers, reports, presentations and correspondence.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and promote lessons learned and best practice.
- Support delivery against challenging timelines and competing priorities.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Experience working within a PMO, Programme Office or project delivery environment.
- Demonstrable experience managing RAID logs and providing written risk and issue reporting.
- Experience supporting governance frameworks, programme controls and reporting processes.
- Experience supporting projects and programmes throughout the full delivery lifecycle.
- Ability to analyse information from multiple sources, identify inconsistencies and recommend practical solutions.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience engaging across complex organisations.
- Experience producing reports, dashboards, presentations and management information for senior stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Desirable Experience
- Public sector, government or regulated environment experience.
- Experience supporting workforce planning and resource management.
- Experience contributing to business cases and benefits tracking.
- Knowledge of project delivery methodologies such as PRINCE2, Agile or MSP.
- Experience supporting programme boards, steering committees or executive governance forums.
- Knowledge of financial tracking, forecasting and budget management.
