IT Support Technician

Agilis Search is delighted to be partnering with a truly unique and people-focused organisation based in Bury St Edmunds who are seeking an experienced IT Support Technician to join their established and collaborative team on a permanent basis.

As an IT Support Technician, you will play a key role in providing high-quality technical support across the business. You’ll be hands-on, proactive, and focused on delivering excellent service to colleagues at all levels.

You will support and maintain systems across both hardware and applications, including Windows Server, Office 365, Active Directory, VMware, and networking technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide remote troubleshooting using effective diagnostic techniques
  • Identify and deliver the best solutions, guiding users through the resolution process
  • Accurately log, categorise, and document incidents, problems, and resolutions
  • Promote self-service where appropriate and escalate more complex issues when needed
  • Keep users informed with clear updates on issues and service requests
  • Contribute to IT policies, processes, and procedures (e.g. onboarding workflows)
  • Support basic administrative tasks such as ordering and shipping equipment
  • Champion a strong customer-focused approach across the business
  • Build positive working relationships with colleagues across all departments
  • Contribute to a collaborative, productive, and enjoyable workplace culture

About You

  • 2–3 years’ experience in a similar IT support role
  • Strong technical knowledge across Microsoft environments and networking basics
  • Confident communicator with a professional and approachable manner
  • Well-organised with the ability to prioritise and manage workloads effectively
  • Proactive, reliable, and always willing to help others
  • Able to produce clear and accurate documentation

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Office 365, Active Directory, Windows 7/10
  • Mobile device support (iOS, Android)
  • Basic network troubleshooting
  • Experience working to deadlines and SLAs
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
