HR Manager (London Area)

Are you an experienced HR professional ready to take on a dynamic standalone role within an innovative tech environment?

Our client, a fast-growing workforce software provider is looking for a proactive and hands-on HR Manager to join their UK office on a 6–12 month contract, with an immediate start.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a well-rounded HR generalist who thrives in fast-paced settings and is eager to build HR foundations and strategy from the ground up.

As the HR Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and supporting the business through its next phase of growth in the UK. Reporting directly to both the Country Manager and Global Head of HR, you’ll take ownership of the full HR function locally—from recruitment and onboarding to employee engagement, performance management, and HR operations.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and is equally comfortable with high-level planning and hands-on delivery. You'll have the opportunity to influence both culture and process while helping lay the groundwork for future growth in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • People Strategy : Partner with leadership to define and implement a people strategy aligned with the company’s growth and values.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding : Lead end-to-end hiring processes and ensure a smooth and engaging onboarding experience.
  • Culture & Engagement : Champion initiatives that foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing culture.
  • Performance & Development : Implement performance management processes that support growth and development.
  • Policy & Compliance : Develop and maintain HR policies that reflect company values and meet UK legal requirements.
  • Day-to-Day HR Operations : Manage employee relations, benefits, and payroll coordination in a hands-on, efficient manner.

You:

  • Proven experience in a standalone HR Manager or senior generalist role
  • In-depth knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices
  • Experience in a startup, scale-up, or high-growth tech business
  • Organised and detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working closely with leadership in a fast-paced environment
  • Available to start immediately and commit to a 6–12 month contract

If you’re a hands-on, adaptable HR professional who enjoys building from the ground up, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful contribution in a high-growth environment.
