Thermal Systems Engineer

As an Engineer specializing in Thermal Systems at Agratas, you will be instrumental in managing and optimizing the sourcing and integration of thermal components in battery systems. You will work closely with suppliers, engineering teams, and quality assurance specialists to ensure that our thermal systems meet the highest standards of performance, efficiency, and safety.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Commodity Management: Develop and implement comprehensive commodity strategies for thermal components, including heat exchangers, cooling systems, and thermal insulation materials.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate strong partnerships with suppliers, ensuring adherence to quality, cost, and delivery commitments. Engage in negotiations and contract management to secure optimal terms.
• Sourcing and Procurement: Lead the process of sourcing, evaluating, and selecting suppliers for thermal components. Oversee procurement activities, including RFQ/RFP processes, supplier evaluations, and cost analyses.
• Cost Optimization: Implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining or improving the quality and performance of thermal components. Drive initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce overall system cost.
• Technical Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert in thermal systems, providing guidance to cross-functional teams during the integration process. Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of thermal components.
• Quality Assurance and Compliance: Work closely with quality assurance teams to establish and monitor quality standards for thermal components. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
• Risk Management: Identify and assess risks associated with the sourcing and integration of thermal components. Develop and implement mitigation strategies to safeguard against potential disruptions.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on advancements in thermal system technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes. Implement best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in commodity management, procurement, or sourcing within the automotive or related industries.
• Technical expertise in thermal systems, including components like heat exchangers, cooling systems, and insulation materials.
• Familiarity with supplier quality management, negotiations, and contract management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
