Are you a hands-on Finance Analyst with real comfort in Power BI
with DAX and SQL skills? Aila Recruitment is delighted to be
exclusively partnering with a leading British manufacturing
company in Letchworth to appoint an Interim Finance Analyst on a
6-month interim basis.

The Role:

Reporting to the FP&A Manager, you'll play a central part in
moving finance reporting away from Cognos and onto Power BI.
You'll scope the finance data sets, build the initial Power BI
finance application and create the dashboards the business will
rely on for management reporting and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

* Support the implementation of Power BI as the primary finance
reporting platform.
* Work with the FP&A Manager and stakeholders across the business
to define reporting requirements and priority data sets
* Agree the scope and data sets for the initial Finance Power BI
application
* Design, build and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards and
data models for finance reporting
* Write SQL queries to extract, transform and validate source
data.
* Develop DAX measures and calculations that are accurate and
scalable.
* Map critical Cognos reports to future Power BI outputs,
identifying opportunities to simplify reporting along the way.
* Test, reconcile and secure stakeholder sign-off on all
dashboards.
* Produce clear documentation, data definitions and handover
materials to support adoption and continuity once the assignment
ends.

The Ideal Candidate:

* Strong hands-on Power BI experience, including dashboards,
reports and data models.
* Good working knowledge of DAX and SQL, with the ability to
build robust calculations and validate data.
* Experience working with structured data sets, BI tools and
reporting environments.
* The ability to translate business requirements into practical
reporting solutions.
* Strong analytical skills, a sharp eye for detail and a real
focus on data accuracy and reconciliation.
* Finance, FP&A or management reporting experience preferred;
Cognos experience a real advantage.
* A confident communicator, able to work with both technical and
non-technical stakeholders.
* Available to start at short notice
