Interim Financial Controller

£400 – £440 per day

Cambridge (Hybrid 3 days in office)

Are you a Qualified Accountant with strong technical and
reporting skills who can step into a senior finance role and take
ownership from day one? Aila Recruitment is exclusively
supporting a global technology business with the appointment of
an Interim Financial Controller on an interim basis until at
least April 2027.

The Role:

Reporting directly to the CFO, you'll step in to lead everything
in finance in and keep the function running to a high standard
while the business recruits a permanent successor. You'll own
financial reporting, FP&A, revenue recognition and the year-end
audit, giving the business stability and continuity through a
period of transition.

Key Responsibilities:

* Own the full reporting cycle, including monthly management
accounts, board packs and statutory reporting
* Lead budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and cash flow,
turning the numbers into clear insight for the CFO, Board and
management team.
* Own revenue recognition under IFRS 15, including judgements on
contracts.
* Lead the year-end audit end to end as primary contact,
preparing the statutory accounts and supporting schedules
* Maintain robust financial controls and processes, flagging
risks early to the CFO and wider stakeholders.
* Lead, support and steady the finance team, keeping output
reliable under deadline pressure.

The Ideal Candidate:

* ACA or ACCA qualified with significant post-qualification
experience in a senior finance role
* Strong track record across financial reporting, revenue
recognition and leading year-end audits.
* Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS and IFRS
15.
* Proven ability to step into roles at pace and take ownership
quickly
* A confident, transparent communicator with the Board, auditors
and non-finance stakeholders
* Experience leading and steadying a finance team, building trust
quickly
