Job summary

The StF Digital Programme Manager will play a key role in supporting the Digital workstream, ensuring the effective coordination and delivery of a programme of projects across the StF. The postholder will work closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.

The role requires skills in programme and project planning, project coordination, stakeholder management skills, ensuring that all activities align with programme requirements, technical standards, and Trust priorities.

The postholder will be responsible for liaising with workstream leads, stakeholders, consultants and specialist advisors to support the smooth progression of project workstreams.

The role will provide leadership over project teams and external partners. The post holder will also provide guidance to the Digital Business Analyst and/ or project support staff and collaborate with external digital delivery partners, ensuring they are effectively guided, and performance is managed to meet project outcomes.

Main duties of the job

Working as Digital Programme Manager in the StF Programme, the post holder will lead a defined portfolio of digital projects and initiatives supporting the new hospital development and wider transformation aims. Operating within a matrix programme structure and reporting to the StF Digital Lead, the post holder will act with a high degree of autonomy to shape and deliver digital elements of the programme in line with broad strategic objectives. This will include:

  • Strategic digital leadership: Developing and implementing digital strategies, standards and policies for the new hospital programme that influence the wider Trust and partners, ensuring alignment with national digital health initiatives.
  • Programme management: Leading and coordinating major digital initiatives comprising multiple complex projects from initiation through to completion, with a focus on benefits realisation, robust governance, and value for money.
  • Digital portfolio ownership: Acting as the accountable lead for the digital workstream, representing the Trust as a client to external suppliers and partner organisations, and ensuring digital projects deliver safe, efficient, future-ready solutions for patient care and hospital operations.
  • Working with Clinical and Non-Clinical Service Units (CSUs) to identify and define digital requirements that will support operational efficiencies in the new healthcare facility.
