Paladign/Mainframe Developer

Duration: initial 1 year contract

Workload: Full time hours

Setup: Contractor inside IR35

Location: Hybrid 3 days/week onsite, 2 days remote

Were urgently seeking a seasoned Paladign/Mainframe Developer to support and enhance a core wealth management system used by our client in the financial services sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse business requirements and develop software solutions on IBM i (AS/400).
• Maintain and enhance the Paladign system, including its update module.
• Conduct unit and integration testing, and manage software releases.
• Collaborate with global teams across development, QA, and support.
• Ensure documentation and code standards are upheld.

Must-Have Skills:

• 5+ years in Financial Services, ideally private banking.
• 5+ years of hands-on Paladign experience.
• Strong IBM i (iSeries/System i/AS400) development using RPG (fixed & free format) and CL.
• Proficiency with XML, MQ Series, SFTP, and SQL.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Nice-to-Have:

• Java development on IBM i.
• Experience with Control-M job scheduling.
• Familiarity with Turnover change control tools.
