About Aisel

Aisel builds AI for psychiatry. We take the work that drains clinicians - documentation, clinic letters and reports (discharge summaries, Mental Health Act and tribunal reports, medico-legal and court reports), preparation, and the endless reading of patient records - and shift it from reactive and fragmented to prepared, focused, and trustworthy. Our AI doesn't just summarise; it produces source-cited clinical documents the clinician verifies and signs off. We're already live in real clinics with paid pilots, and we're now bringing this to UK psychiatry.

Why this role exists

AI in healthcare is mostly noise and big promises. Our edge is the opposite: clinically grounded, honest about what's actually been measured, and trusted because it shows its sources. That needs a senior clinical voice who owns the bridge between practice and product - someone who has written the discharge summary, run the medication review, sat with the Mental Health Act paperwork, and felt the documentation burden first-hand.

What you'll own - three areas:

Product & clinical quality: translate clinical reality into concrete product requirements, and own the quality and safety of what we ship - notes, letters and reports (including templates and logic, and keeping us the right side of record-keeping, UK GDPR / Caldicott, and GMC and CQC standards).

Clinics, validation & impact: work hands-on with clinics - understand workflows, validate solutions, drive adoption, and design the clinical impact measurement that proves, e.g., documented time saved with AI-assisted documentation.

Clinical face, externally: be Aisel's voice in the sector through talks, networks and relationships.

We imagine you

Have a clinical background (doctor / psychiatrist / psychologist / mental health nurse or similar) and know the UK system- NHS and/or private - from the inside. Psychiatry experience is a strong plus.

Have felt the documentation burden yourself and want to fix it.

Are curious about AI and want to shape a product from the early stages.

Can bridge clinicians and a product/engineering team.

Are self-directed and hands-on, with the right to work in the UK and current professional registration (GMC / NMC / HCPC).

Flexibility - you don't have to choose between clinical work and Aisel

This can be full-time or fractional/advisory alongside continuing in clinical practice. For many of the strongest candidates, staying in clinic is a strength, not a compromise.

What we offer

Real influence over a product that makes a difference to clinicians' daily work.

A central role with short decision paths in an early team.

Startup norms plus equity (share options), commensurate with experience.
