Scope - We are seeking a highly skilled Real-Time Embedded Software Engineer to support mission-critical software development activities for a leading defence client. The role involves working closely with hardware and systems teams to develop and integrate high-reliability software in a safety-critical environment.
Role - You will be part of a high-performance engineering team responsible for delivering real-time embedded solutions aligned with DO-178 standards. This role is essential to achieving robust software integration with low-level hardware systems in an agile, test-driven development environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain real-time embedded software solutions
- Engage in target-based testing with access to live hardware
- Ensure compliance with DO-178 standards, contributing to safety-critical applications
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate software with hardware systems
- Participate in code reviews, technical documentation, and agile ceremonies
- Troubleshoot complex software and hardware interactions
Required Experience
- Strong background in real-time embedded software development
- Hands-on experience with target-based testing in live hardware environments
- Exposure to DO-178 standards and safety-critical system development
Required Skills
- Proficiency in C++
- Agile development methodology experience
- Deep understanding of hardware/software integration
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
Required Education - Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
Clearance Requirements
- Active SC (Security Clearance) or eligible to obtain SC clearance.
- BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) clearance will be required to start.
