Network Engineer - Global zScaler Implementation (Inside IR35)

Location: Central London (3 days on-site, 2 days WFH)Contract: 6 months + likely extensionRate: Inside IR35Start: ASAP

About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on Network Engineer to support a major global zScaler rollout and contribute to our client's Cloud First strategy. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys technical delivery, solution implementation, and operational support-not someone focused solely on high-level design or consultancy.You'll join a global technology team and play a key part in transforming and modernising the organisation's network and cloud security posture.

Key Responsibilities

60% - zScaler Global Implementation

Support and drive the global rollout of zScaler Internet Access (ZIA) and zScaler Private Access (ZPA).Configure, deploy, and optimise zScaler solutions across multiple regions.Work closely with security, infrastructure, and network teams to ensure smooth integration.Troubleshoot performance issues, policy configurations, and user access flows.Provide technical guidance and documentation for regional teams.

20% - BAU Networking

Provide operational support for day-to-day network activities.Troubleshoot L2/L3 network issues across WAN/LAN/Wi-Fi environments.Review and maintain network configurations, monitoring, and performance tuning.

20% - Azure Networking & Cloud

Support Azure networking workloads as part of the Cloud First initiative.Configure and maintain Azure VNets, Firewalls, VPN Gateways, ExpressRoute, and related services.Troubleshoot connectivity, routing, and cloud integration issues.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Skills

Proven experience with zScaler (ZIA, ZPA) deployments or large-scale configurations.Strong background in enterprise network engineering:

Routing & switching (Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, etc.)Firewalls and network security principlesSD-WAN experience beneficial

Practical knowledge of Azure networking (VNets, NSGs, Azure Firewall, routing, Private Link).Experience in hybrid/cloud networking in large global environments.

Soft Skills & Profile

Hands-on, delivery-focused engineer (not pure architect/consultant).Comfortable working in complex, global enterprise environments.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to own issues end-to-end.Excellent communication skills, able to collaborate with international teams.
