Brief

We're seeking an experienced Risk & Planning Manager to support delivery of one of the UK's most ambitious pub sec transformation programmes.

The right candidate needs to come with deep expertise in risk management, programme planning, and Agile delivery, who can operate confidently in a secure and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead programme-wide risk and issue management, maintaining registers, tracking mitigations, and ensuring timely escalation
• Identify and manage interdependencies across delivery partners and the Authority, maintaining alignment and oversight
• Drive replanning cycles in Jira and MS Project - updating schedules, dependencies, and baselines as required
• Support workstream-level planning, progress tracking, and reporting to ensure roadmap alignment
• Facilitate workshops and governance forums, capturing outcomes, actions, and decisions
• Produce accurate and insightful management information, dashboards, and exception reports
• Champion Agile ways of working, coaching teams on risk-aware, iterative delivery
• Develop and refine planning and risk management templates, tools, and playbooks for continuous improvement

Essential Experience

• Proven experience in risk management and programme planning for complex transformation or technology programmes.
• Strong familiarity with Agile delivery and iterative planning techniques.
• Proficiency in Jira and MS Project (or equivalent tools).
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and facilitation skills.
• Comfortable operating under pressure in secure, high-stakes environments.

Desirable Qualifications

• PRINCE2 Practitioner, MSP, or Agile certification.

Security Clearance

• Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain UK Security Check (SC) clearance.
