Business Analyst

Albany Beck is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to support the identification, design and implementation of AI-driven solutions across one of its Asset Management clients Operations function.

Working closely with Corporate Actions, Middle Office, Back Office, Data and Technology teams, you will identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through AI technologies such as Claude and other LLM-based solutions. You will be responsible for understanding existing business processes, gathering detailed requirements, defining future-state solutions and working with technical teams to implement them.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working independently, is naturally curious about AI and automation, and can bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with Operations teams including Corporate Actions, Middle Office and Back Office to understand existing processes and pain points.
  • Identify opportunities where AI technologies (including Claude and other Large Language Models) can improve operational efficiency.
  • Conduct workshops and interviews to scope business requirements and define solution objectives.
  • Produce business requirements, process maps, user stories and functional specifications.
  • Partner with Data Engineering and Technology teams to assess technical feasibility and design appropriate solutions.
  • Work alongside AI and technology specialists during implementation to ensure business requirements are accurately delivered.
  • Support proof of concepts (PoCs), pilots and production deployments of AI-enabled capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Investor Relations, Finance and other business functions where operational processes overlap.
  • Perform process analysis and recommend improvements using automation and AI technologies.
  • Support testing, user acceptance and rollout of new solutions.
  • Act as the key liaison between business users and technical delivery teams.

Required Experience

  • 2–5 years' experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst.
  • Experience working within Asset Management, Investment Management or Buy-side Financial Services.

Strong understanding of Operations functions including one or more of:

  • Corporate Actions
  • Middle Office
  • Back Office
  • Investment Operations
  • Experience gathering business and technical requirements.
  • Comfortable working with technical teams including Data Engineering, Software Engineering or AI specialists.
  • Understanding of AI technologies and Large Language Models (such as Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot or similar).
  • Ability to identify suitable AI use cases and translate business problems into technical solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience delivering AI or automation initiatives.
  • Knowledge of investment data, market data or reference data.
  • Experience with process mapping tools such as Visio or Lucidchart.
  • SQL or basic data analysis skills.
  • Experience working with Agile delivery teams.
  • Exposure to Python, APIs or data platforms would be advantageous.
