Role Overview
We're looking for a Technical Systems Analyst to join our growing Product and Technology function here at Albany Beck. This role will act as the bridge between business users and technology teams, supporting a range of applications used by Exposure Management and Underwriting teams. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys analysing systems, solving problems, improving processes and working closely with stakeholders to deliver tangible business value. You'll play a key role in supporting critical applications, identifying opportunities for automation and driving operational efficiency across the function.
The role offers a unique opportunity to become a subject matter expert for business-critical systems while contributing to a wider product-led transformation programme .
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary liaison between Exposure Management stakeholders and Technology teams.
- Analyse existing systems, processes and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement and automation.
- Gather, document and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Support and maintain business-critical applications, troubleshooting issues and coordinating resolutions.
- Work closely with Engineers, Architects and QA teams to deliver system enhancements and improvements.
- Analyse data and system performance to support operational decision-making.
- Create and maintain system documentation, process maps and knowledge repositories.
- Drive operational efficiency through process optimisation and automation initiatives.
- Support the ongoing development of a product-centric technology operating model.
- Build strong relationships with business users and provide day-to-day support across the application landscape .
Key Experience
- Experience working as a Systems Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Application Analyst or similar role.
- Strong SQL skills with experience analysing and manipulating data.
- Experience using Python, VBA or similar technologies for automation and process improvement.
- Experience supporting and improving business-critical applications.
- Strong requirements gathering, systems analysis and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience working closely with both business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable Experience
- Exposure Management, Catastrophe Modelling or Underwriting domain knowledge.
- Experience within the London Market insurance sector.
- Knowledge of modelling platforms such as RiskLink, Risk Modeler or similar tools.
- Experience working within Agile or product-led delivery environments.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps and Confluence.
