We’re partnering with a venture-backed, product-led startup building a highly personalised, AI-driven platform that helps users make better decisions across their daily lives - from travel and health to dining and experiences.

The product is already live, growing fast, and showing exceptional engagement early on. Now, they’re expanding their founding engineering team to scale what they’ve built so far.

💡 The Role

As a Founding Product Engineer, you’ll work closely with the CTO and early team to build and scale the core systems behind the product.

This is a hands-on, high-ownership role where you’ll take features from idea → production, shape technical decisions, and help define how the platform evolves as it scales.

🔧 What You’ll Be Doing

• Building and scaling backend systems using Python & Django

• Owning features end-to-end, from design through to deployment

• Developing APIs, background processing systems, and AI-driven workflows

• Working with data-heavy pipelines and retrieval-based systems

• Improving performance across queries, APIs, and infrastructure

• Operating within a cloud-native environment (GCP)

• Debugging production issues and driving resolution

• Collaborating closely with product, mobile, and frontend teams

• Contributing to engineering standards and raising the technical bar

✅ What They’re Looking For

• 5+ years building production backend systems

• Strong experience with Python and Django (DRF)

• Solid understanding of SQL, system design, and performance optimisation

• Experience with background job systems (e.g. Celery)

• Exposure to LLMs, AI systems, or agent-based architectures

• Experience working in cloud environments (ideally GCP)

• Strong product mindset - you care about performance, reliability, and user impact

• Comfortable in a fast-paced, in-person environment
