The Role
You will join a cross functional team building data driven products within a microservice architecture. Reporting to the Lead QA Engineer, you will help evolve testing strategy, elevate engineering quality and champion shared ownership of testing across the organisation.
This is a highly collaborative role that partners closely with Engineering, Product, Design, Client Success and subject matter experts from discovery through release.
What You Will Do;
Embed Quality From Discovery To Release
- Participate in discovery sessions and story kickoffs to clarify requirements and risks
- Shape clear and testable acceptance criteria rooted in real user behaviour
- Define and agree all required test cases for release within your service
- Validate stories collaboratively to avoid handoffs and late surprises
Strengthen Automated And E2E Testing
- Contribute to an improved E2E testing strategy focused on meaningful user workflows
- Design and maintain Playwright based E2E tests
- Drive high quality testing across layers including unit, integration, API and acceptance
- Improve CI and CD signals so the pipeline becomes a reliable source of release confidence
Improve Data Validation And Early Issue Detection
- Develop a strong understanding of how data is ingested, transformed and served
- Validate data accuracy, integrity and consistency across services
- Collaborate with SMEs and product teams to define clear and testable data criteria
- Introduce automated checks to detect anomalies early and support root cause analysis
- Push testing closer to development through pairing and strong automation practices
Raise Team Wide Capability
- Promote habits that reduce defects and strengthen release confidence
- Mentor less experienced QA engineers in automation and test design
- Help continually improve how the team thinks about and approaches quality
What You Need
- Strong experience in QA or software engineering
- Hands on experience with Playwright, Cypress or similar frameworks
- Experience in cross functional teams practising Continuous Delivery
- Ability to design automated tests across multiple layers
- Strong ability to define test cases based on real user behaviour and business logic
- Confidence reviewing changes for testability and risk
- Experience with microservices and API driven systems
- Familiarity with JavaScript, TypeScript and Python
- Excellent communication skills and collaborative working style
- Experience mentoring others and improving QA practices
- Exposure to AI assisted development tools that support test design and coverage
