I'm currently working with a growing organisation looking to strengthen its technology team with a Database Administrator who will play a key role in managing and optimising their database infrastructure.

The Role

As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management, optimisation, and maintenance of the organisation’s database environments.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and maintaining SQL database environments

• Monitoring database performance and identifying optimisation opportunities

• Implementing performance tuning strategies to improve system efficiency

• Managing database backups and disaster recovery processes

• Troubleshooting database incidents and resolving performance issues

• Supporting database upgrades, patching, and migrations

• Ensuring strong database security and access control

• Maintaining database documentation and best practices

• Supporting development teams with database design and optimisation

What Our Client Is Looking For:

  • Experience working as a Database Administrator or SQL DBA
  • Strong knowledge of SQL-based databases (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL or similar)
  • Experience with database monitoring, optimisation, and performance tuning
  • Understanding of backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes
  • Experience troubleshooting database incidents and performance issues
  • Knowledge of database security and access management best practices
  • Ability to collaborate with development and infrastructure teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on system stability and continuous improvement
