The Role:

You will be responsible for designing and building both the frontend and backend of an AI-powered Personally Identifiable Information (PII) redaction MVP.

The team's internal Data Scientists have already built an early prototype, and your role will be to help transform this into a robust, secure, and scalable service ready for operational use.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain full-stack software using Python
  • Build and integrate frontend components using HTML, CSS, and frameworks such as React or Angular
  • Work with relational databases and data-driven applications
  • Collaborate closely with data science and DevOps colleagues
  • Deliver core MVP functionality in fortnightly Agile sprints
  • Improve the resilience, stability, and scalability of existing systems
  • Work effectively with pre-existing codebases
  • Apply containerisation and continuous delivery practices
  • Produce clear documentation throughout the SDLC

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Expert-level Python development experience
  • Strong full-stack capability, including HTML/CSS and React or Angular
  • Expert understanding of the relational data model and databases
  • Proven experience delivering software using Agile methodologies
  • Experience with containerisation (e.g. Docker)
  • Ability to improve software reliability and operational resilience
  • Experience contributing to CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong documentation practices

Desirable Experience:

  • Designing software that allows users to view and interact with documents (PDF, Word) or images
  • Experience working with cloud platforms, particularly AWS
