Senior AV Engineer - High-End Smart Homes (North West Projects | Full-Time | Up to £45k)
Salary: Up to £45,000 + company vehicle + benefits
Location: Projects across the North West, London & occasionally overseas Type: Permanent, full-time
Setup: Site-based with office, workshop, and team support.

A market leader in Smart Home technology is expanding and looking for a Senior AV Engineer to drive the technical delivery of complex, multi-discipline installs.

What's the role?
You'll be one of the go-to engineers on site, leading from the front and ensuring everything from first fix to final commissioning runs like clockwork. You'll install, programme, test and handover AV, Cinema, Security and Smart systems across high spec homes and occasionally Commercial spaces.

This isn't just cable pulling and screen mounting. It's about technical ownership, quality assurance, mentoring junior engineers, and helping deliver high-profile smart building projects on time and on budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project leadership - take ownership of site-based AV installation and system delivery.
  • System delivery - manage all aspects from first fix to rack build, programming, testing, and handover.
  • Collaboration - work closely with internal design, programming and project teams.
  • Communication - liaise with clients, contractors and project managers to ensure progress and expectations are aligned.
  • Quality focus - uphold exceptional installation and commissioning standards.
  • Mentorship - guide and support junior engineers and apprentices.
  • Efficiency - monitor progress, highlight risks to timelines or budgets, and seek continuous improvement.

You'll need:
Essential experience:

  • 4+ years in residential AV or smart home system delivery
  • Experience delivering full AV systems including home cinemas, multi-room audio, lighting control, and networking
  • Hands-on Control4 programming (Crestron, AMX or RTI also considered)
  • Strong understanding of IP networking and structured cabling
  • Confident with rack builds, commissioning, testing and system handovers
  • Comfortable managing your own time and team on multiple live projects

Bonus points for:

  • CCTV installation and commissioning experience
  • Use of D-Tools
  • Experience delivering projects across multiple regions or internationally
