We are partnering with an innovative UK Rocket Launch Provider that is undertaking a significant investment in its digital infrastructure and operational systems. As part of this growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior Odoo Developer to take ownership of the ongoing development, optimisation, and future scalability of the company's core ERP/MRP platform.

The Role

As Senior Odoo Developer, you will be responsible for the architecture, development, maintenance, and enhancement of the company's Odoo ecosystem. This includes leading major version upgrades, developing bespoke functionality, integrating third-party platforms, and ensuring the system remains scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business objectives.

You will work closely with stakeholders across manufacturing, operations, finance, and procurement to translate complex business requirements into robust technical solutions while maintaining alignment with Odoo best practices and upgrade paths.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver Odoo upgrades and migrations across major versions, ensuring stability and minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Design, develop, and maintain custom Odoo modules from concept through to deployment.
  • Build and support integrations between Odoo and external business-critical systems.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Maintain high development standards through code reviews, testing, and documentation.
  • Optimise system performance, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and proactively identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure custom developments remain as close to Odoo core as possible to support future upgradeability.
  • Produce clear technical documentation and provide regular project updates to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the long-term technical roadmap and strategic development of the ERP platform.

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 5 years' hands-on Odoo development experience.
  • Proven experience delivering upgrades across multiple major Odoo versions (e.g., v15 to v18 and beyond).
  • Strong track record of developing and deploying custom Odoo modules.
  • Deep understanding of core Odoo business applications, including:
    • Manufacturing
    • Inventory
    • Purchasing
    • Sales
    • Accounting
    • User Access & Security Management
  • Advanced Python development skills, particularly within the Odoo ORM framework.
  • Strong JavaScript/TypeScript experience, including the OWL framework.
  • Experience working with PostgreSQL databases and Linux-based environments.
  • Strong knowledge of REST APIs and third-party system integrations.
  • In-depth understanding of Odoo architecture, models, views, workflows, security, and development best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
