On behalf of Deutsche Bank, we are looking for a Principal Auditor to work on a 6 Month contract based in London (3 days per week on-site).
The Role & Responsibilities:
We are seeking a senior Principal Auditor with deep Investment Banking Technology Audit experience to lead and deliver complex, integrated audits across Investment Banking.
This role requires a technically strong and commercially aware audit professional who will act as a key representative of the audit team when engaging with business and technology stakeholders. The successful candidate will evaluate automated controls, IT General Controls, and technology risks supporting front-office Investment Banking activities.
Strong Investment Banking domain knowledge is essential, alongside the ability to coach junior team members, manage stakeholders, and operate effectively within a global audit function.
Responsibilities of the Role:
- Lead and deliver integrated technology audits across Investment Banking in line with GA methodology and the established risk assessment framework.
- Evaluate the design and effectiveness of internal controls supporting Fixed Income & Currencies (FIC), Electronic and Algorithmic Trading, and Origination & Advisory.
- Assess automated controls and IT General Controls (ITGCs) within complex, high-risk trading environments.
- Plan, execute and report on audits, including drafting findings, validating remediation, and completing ad-hoc reviews and special projects.
- Act as the primary audit representative in stakeholder engagements, providing credible challenge and advice on technology risk and control design.
- Maintain awareness of regulatory developments, industry trends and business changes, and assess their impact on audit coverage and risk assessments.
- Build strong working relationships with business and technology stakeholders locally and globally.
- Coach and support junior team members, contributing to team development and broader departmental initiatives.
Key Accountabilities, Skills & Experience:
- Significant Investment Banking Technology Audit experience, with a strong track record of delivering integrated audits.
- Deep understanding of front-office IB businesses, including FIC, Electronic & Algorithmic Trading, and Origination & Advisory.
- Strong knowledge of automated controls, IT General Controls (ITGCs), and technology risk frameworks within complex trading environments.
- Proven ability to independently lead audits, exercise sound judgment, and engage credibly with senior stakeholders.
- Experience drafting audit findings and overseeing remediation validation.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Experience coaching and mentoring junior team members; prior line management experience preferred.
- Ability to interpret code and understand system architecture (desirable but not essential).
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIA, CISA) preferred.
