Job Title: Senior DSP Engineer / Chief Systems Architect

Location: Cambridge (Hybrid – 3 days in office)

Salary: £120,000 - £130,000

We are recruiting on behalf of an innovative technology company at the forefront of wireless analysis and software-defined radio development.

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Senior DSP Engineer / Chief Systems Architect to take ownership of advanced DSP implementations across next-generation software defined radio platforms. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping high-performance, low-power wireless products used in cutting-edge Bluetooth analysis applications.

You will be responsible for the architecture, development, and optimisation of sophisticated DSP solutions within SDR environments, working closely with analogue, hardware, and software engineering teams to deliver industry-leading products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Taking full technical ownership of DSP implementations across software defined radio platforms
  • Collaborating with analogue and hardware engineers to develop compact, low-power next-generation products
  • Working alongside protocol software engineers to define the optimal partitioning between hardware and software functionality
  • Designing innovative features that enhance product capability and customer experience
  • Driving technical excellence to maintain market leadership within Bluetooth analysis technology
  • Supporting technical presentations and attending international Bluetooth industry events where required

Requirements:

We are looking for a highly motivated and innovative engineer who thrives in technically challenging environments and is comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy.

You should have:

  • Proven experience working with software defined radios (SDR)
  • Deep knowledge of DSP techniques including filter structures, FFTs, signal analysis, and digital filtering
  • Strong understanding of modem design, including tracking loops, equalisers, synchronisation, and receiver architectures
  • Detailed knowledge of error correction schemes and channel coding techniques
  • Strong understanding of digital modulation schemes
  • Extensive experience with Verilog and/or VHDL
  • The ability to work across multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • A self-driven mindset with strong problem-solving and innovation skills
