Structured Cabling Engineer

Alma Personnel are recruiting on behalf of their Midlands based client for an experienced Structured Cabling Engineer with who is able to commute at least an hour to Derby.

Working for an established data commutations/cables organisation covering a range of industries from defence to healthcare, you will be provided with full support and the tools to carry out your tasks.

Adhering to ISO14001, CHAS, and SafeContractor accredited, they build strong customer relationships based on technical excellence and reliability.

Depending on experience, there are 3 levels to join (L1, L2, L3)

40 hour week with some flexibility starting 7.30am to finish around 4.30pm.

A company vehicle will be made available so full clean licence is required, plus a wealth of other company benefits including Life assurance (3xSal), on going training and progression.

So, we 're looking for hard working dependable keen engineers to deliver our projects at between Level 1 & 3.

  • Work on internal and external copper and fibre cabling installations
  • Install, terminate, and test cabling to the highest standards
  • Deploy containment systems such as conduit, trunking, tray, and basket
  • Work in varied environments — offices, manufacturing plants, construction sites, and data centres
  • Occasionally travel and stay overnight as required by projects
  • Progress your skills through structured training in Wi-Fi, UPS, AV systems, and Health & Safety

Responsibilities:- Level (1)

  • Install, terminate, and test Cat6/Cat6a and fibre cabling
  • Carry out containment and pathway installations
  • Diagnose and rectify faults in structured cabling systems
  • Install Wi-Fi access points, UPS units, and related equipment
  • Follow all safety standards, risk assessments, and method statements
  • Complete job documentation to company standards
  • Support wider business operations as needed

Responsibilities :- Levels (L2/L3)

Create and manage site-specific risk assessments and method statements

Oversee project delivery to deadlines

Conduct site surveys and produce technical documentation

Liaise with clients and provide regular updates

Recommend solutions and assist with project change control

What we're looking for is :-

CSCS/ECS site card

Full UK driving licence

Industry training (IPAF, PASMA)

Strong technical understanding of data/fibre installations

Ability to work independently and in a team

Excellent communication and customer-facing skills

Flexible, organised, and detail-oriented

SC Security Clearance (or ability to obtain)
