About the Opportunity
Altera Recruitment Group is working in partnership with a leading anaerobic digestion facility to recruit an experienced Multi Skilled Engineer for a permanent position based in Gloucestershire.
This is an excellent opportunity for a genuinely dual skilled engineer who is equally confident carrying out electrical fault finding and mechanical maintenance within a fast paced industrial environment. You'll play a key role in ensuring maximum plant reliability through planned maintenance, rapid breakdown response and continuous improvement projects.
This role is ideally suited to an engineer with a strong background in manufacturing, processing, waste, recycling, energy or other heavy industrial sectors who enjoys working on a wide variety of automated plant and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across a range of electrical and mechanical plant equipment to maximise operational uptime.
- Diagnose and resolve faults on motors, drives, control panels, PLC controlled systems, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics and pneumatic equipment.
- Support ongoing improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment reliability, efficiency and overall plant performance.
- Complete maintenance documentation accurately using the site's maintenance management system while ensuring all work complies with health and safety procedures.
- Participate in the site's on call rota, providing emergency engineering support when required.
Candidate Requirements
- Completed a recognised UK engineering apprenticeship with dual skilled mechanical and electrical training.
- Hold the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, 2391-52 Inspection & Testing qualification and AM1 and AM2 certifications. These are essential requirements for the position.
- Proven experience working within a heavy industrial, manufacturing, processing, energy, waste or automated production environment.
- Strong fault finding ability across both electrical control systems and mechanical equipment, with experience working on PLC controlled machinery.
- A proactive, safety conscious approach with excellent problem solving skills and the ability to work independently as part of a multi skilled engineering team.
