Permanent Based in Hemel Hempstead (occasional travel to clients) Full Time - 35 hour week £65,000 pa - £70,000 pa Subject Matter Expert - Product Cybersecurity Working for a global company that are experts within their field ensuring standards within compliance testing activities. An equal opportunity employer, that are committed to diversity. As an SME Product cybersecurity expert, you will be responsible for serving as the main technical authority and providing thought leadership for cybersecurity compliance testing activities for connected consumer, industrial and medical products. This role combines product cybersecurity expertise, hands-on testing skills, and practical knowledge of different product cybersecurity standards and related regulations as well as the ability to understand new testing standards and methodologies for connected product cybersecurity compliance at global a scale. This role is crucial in helping our clients to bring secure connected products to market and comply with evolving cybersecurity regulations. The individual will leverage technical expertise to perform in-depth security evaluations, offer strategic testing and evaluation guidance, and contribute to our reputation as a trusted authority in IoT product cybersecurity.
  • To provide expert advice to internal teams and leadership
  • To contribute to the company strategic positioning in the Product IOT cybersecurity area
  • To interpret product IOT cybersecurity standards and related regulations understanding testing protocols and evaluation methodologies as well as required testing tools
  • To manage the testing of client samples to ensure compliance to the relevant schemes under type test and audit tests
  • To support project clients in conducting tests and in observing the results
  • Working with certification teams to resolve issues found during testing
  • To develop tests and automation to further expand our testing capabilities for new product cybersecurity regulations
To serve as product cybersecurity technical compliance authority for our client you will lead the product cybersecurity
  • Assist to maintain and improve test techniques for the IoT laboratory
  • To lead the standards, review process required by the company strategy
  • To research and identify new potential test equipment for the IoT laboratory
  • Establish KPI's and report on compliance/accreditation/operational related issues
  • Ensure that compliance processes are established, implemented and maintained and ensuring that they continue to meet accreditation requirements and remains effective, efficient and fit for purpose
  • To provide technical assistance with customers, during any potential testing and certification journey
  • To manage client's samples and testing to ensure that agreed timelines are met for the testing of samples
  • To assist in the maintenance and continuous improvement on automated reporting tools
  • Prepare Test Reports for clients and delivered on time as agreed in Operational Plan
  • Maintaining CREST CPSA Level or equivalent qualification
  • Support in the development of new testing services related to Product cybersecurity
  • Demonstrate achievement of annual PDR objectives and delivery of our clients core values and behaviours
  • Customer Focus - both internal and external
  • Participation in the continual improvement of initiatives
Person Specification:
  • At least 5 years experience hardware cybersecurity testing (IoT devices)
  • Sound knowledge in the different IOT product cybersecurity regulations around the world
  • Have practical knowledge and experience deliveringesting and assessment services against relevant standards and/or other relevant documents and procedures for IoT. It includes relevant experience with ETSI EN 303 645, ETSI TS 103 701, RED EN 18031, IEC 62443, UL2900 and OWASP standard
  • Strong foundation in programming languages and networking is essential
  • Understanding of microcontrollers (e.g., STM32, ESP32) and real-time operating systems (RTOS)
  • Proficiency with UART, JTAG, SPI, I2C for debugging and testing purposes
  • Knowledge of different wireless protocols as Zigbee, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Cellular, LoRaWAN
  • Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Cellular, LoRaWAN, etc., and their attack surfaces
  • Practical knowledge of Linux OS and others
  • Good communication skills and the ability to write clear and concise reports
  • Work well as part of a team
  • Building relationship with external and internal client
  • Ability to solve problems proactively
