Altrad Babcock Limited Project Control Apprenticeship

Altrad Babcock are specialists in the delivery of upgrade services to the nuclear, oil and gas, petrochemical and process sectors. A Project Controls Technician controls, monitors and systemically analyses progress and performance data on engineering construction and infrastructure projects.

Role

Candidates undertaking Advanced Apprenticeships receive both 'off-the-job' and 'on-the-job' training.

A typical working day will be supporting either site based or regional office teams with all aspects of Project Controls such as

  • Developing work breakdown structures
  • Managing data
  • Estimating
  • Scheduling and planning
  • Monitoring progress and performance and analysing data
  • Forecasting 

Other duties may included attending client and internal progress meetings.

Training

This Level 3 Diploma in Project Contral Practice covers estimating, cost control, planning and commercial support. The course covers the effective use of IT in:

  • Project control
  • Monitoring risks
  • Reviewing contingencies
  • Effectively applying quality assurance
  • You will also learn how to prepare budgets
  • Programmes and schedules
  • Carry out cost control
  • Calculate financial outcomes
  • Calculate completion data
