AI Consultant HCM
Overview
A leading HR consultancy has recently launched a strategic focus on AI and its impact on HR. As part of this initiative, they are hiring a Project Manager to oversee both client-facing advisory work and internal capability development. The role is at the centre of the consultancy's expanding AI-enabled HR practice, with responsibility for managing strategic AI programmes, supporting client transformation, and leading the upskilling agenda across the firm.
This is a hands-on delivery role ideal for someone with strong consulting experience, an interest in AI technologies, and a passion for fostering real-world change in HR.
Key Responsibilities
Client-Facing Advisory & Transformation
- Provide strategic and operational guidance to CPOs and senior HR leaders on applying AI in HR functions.
- Lead AI-focused client engagements, helping organisations assess their AI maturity, navigate vendor landscapes, and embed AI in HR processes.
- Support clients with practical implementation strategies, change management, and ongoing transformation programmes.
- Translate AI concepts into actionable business outcomes for HR teams.
Internal AI Programme Leadership
- Manage and deliver a portfolio of internal AI projects (pilots, PoCs, tooling rollouts) from discovery through evaluation.
- Design and implement an internal AI upskilling programme, including workshops, micro-learning, and AI champions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to align AI initiatives with business goals.
- Establish light-touch governance structures, including RAID logs, benefits tracking, and post-implementation reviews.
- Work with the Change & Adoption team to drive engagement, communication, and adoption of AI internally.
Skills & Experience
- Proven track record of delivering complex projects in a consultancy or tech-enabled environment (5+ years).
- Strong understanding of AI's impact on HR functions (e.g., people analytics, automation, talent management).
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence senior leaders and partners.
- Deep consulting experience, combining strategic thinking with practical delivery skills.
- Experience working with HR platforms such as Oracle, SAP, Workday, and familiarity with Microsoft collaboration tools.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, agile, entrepreneurial teams with a proactive mindset.
AI & Technical Knowledge
- Practical understanding of key AI/ML concepts such as LLMs, predictive analytics, and responsible AI.
- Awareness of data privacy, security, and ethical considerations in deploying AI in HR.
- Experience with AI tools and platforms is advantageous but not essential.
- Python or other technical skills is helpful but not required if consulting expertise is strong.
HR Knowledge
- Solid understanding of HR contexts and challenges, especially relating to digital transformation.
- Ability to ask pertinent questions and offer relevant guidance within HR settings.
- No need for deep HR specialism - internal experts are available - but confidence in navigating HR-focused discussions is essential.
