Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on ERP Project Manager to lead a significant upgrade of a legacy system.

The platform supports a range of core business and finance processes and includes bespoke functionality. The project will involve upgrading the existing environment and supporting its migration to a modern cloud-based platform.

Working on the client side, you will take end-to-end ownership of the project and coordinate delivery across business teams, internal technology stakeholders and an appointed implementation partner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scope, plan and deliver the ERP upgrade and cloud migration.
  • Establish effective project governance, controls, reporting and risk management.
  • Own the integrated project plan, including milestones, dependencies, actions and priorities.
  • Coordinate business and finance stakeholders throughout the upgrade and transition.
  • Manage the relationship with the third-party implementation partner, driving delivery against the agreed plan.
  • Work with internal technology teams to coordinate infrastructure, network, integration and data-flow changes.
  • Manage project scope and priorities throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement across business and technology functions.
  • Support business readiness, change management, testing, cutover and transition.
  • Identify and plan any follow-on improvement activity outside the immediate upgrade scope.

Essential Experience

  • Strong, hands-on project management experience delivering ERP upgrades or migrations.
  • Demonstrable ownership of complex project plans, governance, risks, dependencies and delivery actions.
  • Experience delivering ERP projects involving finance teams and cross-functional technology stakeholders.
  • Experience managing third-party software or implementation partners.
  • Ability to manage complex, bespoke environments where standard upgrade approaches may not be sufficient.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge, escalate and drive decisions.
  • Experience with SAP Business One, Sage, SunSystems or a comparable finance or accounting platform.

Desirable Experience

  • Direct SAP Business One upgrade or migration experience.
  • Experience upgrading legacy ERP environments.
  • Experience migrating ERP platforms or workloads to a cloud-based environment.
  • A finance or accounting background, ideally supported by a recognised qualification.
  • Experience supporting finance-process change, testing and operational transition.
