General Ledger Accountant (day rate)
Altum Consulting are recruiting for a General Ledger Accountant to join a growing technology business based in Central London for a 3 month day rate contract.
The GL Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close activities, and ensuring financial data integrity across the business. Working closely with the Finance Manager and wider finance team, you will help deliver timely and reliable financial reporting during a period of operational growth
Role:
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and adjustments
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
- Support month-end and quarter-end close processes
- Maintain the general ledger ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Review transactions to ensure correct accounting treatment
- Liaise with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll teams to resolve discrepancies
- Assist with process improvements and finance transformation initiatives
You'll be/have:
- Immediately available Part-Qualified Accountant
- Proven experience in a General Ledger or Financial Accounting role
- Strong understanding of month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations
- Excellent excel skills and experience using ERP/accounting systems
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Able to commit to a 3-month contract
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, changing environment
