Location: Remote (UK-based)Industry: High-Growth Tech | Preparing for US Listing Reports to: SOX Lead

Overview

Our client is one of the fastest-scaling technology businesses in Europe and is preparing for a US listing. As the company expands rapidly across markets, products and teams, they are building a robust SOX and internal controls environment to support this next phase of maturity.

With an established Head of Risk and a dedicated SOX Lead already in place, they are now looking to add a strong SOX and business process professional who is energised by fast-paced environments and the opportunity to help build something from the ground up.

This role is an excellent first move for someone coming from practice, or for someone with existing in-house SOX or internal controls experience looking to step into a high-growth, high-impact setting.

The Role

Reporting to the SOX Lead, this position will support the design, implementation and ongoing development of the company's SOX programme. The environment is dynamic and fast-moving, so the successful candidate will thrive on taking ownership, driving delivery and shaping processes as the business scales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the design, documentation and enhancement of end-to-end business processes across Finance, Operations and Technology.

  • Contribute to the development of the internal controls framework aligned to SOX requirements.

  • Execute controls testing, walkthroughs and risk assessments.

  • Partner with process owners to embed controls into rapidly evolving processes.

  • Track remediation activity, ensuring control deficiencies are addressed promptly.

  • Prepare detailed, high-quality documentation and testing papers for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Help mature and scale the SOX programme as the organisation moves toward IPO readiness.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will bring:

  • A solid grounding in SOX, internal controls or business process design.

  • Experience gained from practice (Big 4 or otherwise), or from a similar in-house SOX/internal controls role.

  • Comfort operating in fast-paced, high-growth environments where processes are still developing.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • A proactive and delivery-focused approach.

  • Must be based in the UK (role is fully remote within the UK).

Why This Role?
  • Join one of the most exciting, rapidly scaling tech companies in the world.

  • Shape the SOX and controls environment at a critical pre-IPO stage.

  • Work closely with senior leaders and gain broad exposure across the business.

  • Fully remote role with significant opportunity for progression.
