BI Consultant

Alvarium Talent is partnering with a fast‐growing, Data & AI consultancy that specialises in helping organisations maximise the value of their data through modern BI solutions, data strategy, intelligent analytics, AI readiness and end‐to‐end Microsoft data platform capabilities.

As a BI Consultant, you’ll work directly with business and technical stakeholders, shaping end‐to‐end Business Intelligence solutions that enable clients to make smarter, data‐driven decisions. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical BI capabilities, excellent communication skills, and the confidence to engage with clients—whether gained in consulting or a client‐facing in‐house role.

Core Responsibilities

  • Deliver end‐to‐end enterprise‐level BI solutions using Power BI and modern Microsoft data tools.
  • Translate business requirements into robust, scalable data models and reporting solutions.
  • Run stakeholder workshops, gather requirements, and present insights and prototypes with confidence.
  • Advise clients on BI best practice, data governance, and reporting optimisation.
  • Work alongside Data Engineers and Architects to build curated, BI‐centric datasets.
  • Support migration from legacy systems to modern BI platforms.
  • Troubleshoot, optimise, and debug existing BI solutions.
  • Produce clear documentation, testing plans, and well‐structured deliverables.
  • Contribute to BI strategy discussions and challenge approaches to ensure quality outcomes.

Role Requirements

Essential

  • 4–7 years’ experience in Business Intelligence, analytics, or reporting roles.
  • Proven hands‐on experience with Power BI (DAX, Power Query, modelling, visual design).
  • Strong SQL skills and understanding of relational databases.
  • Experience engaging directly with stakeholders or clients (consulting or in‐house).
  • Ability to structure, manage and deliver defined pieces of work.
  • Excellent communication, problem‐solving and analytical skills.

Desirable

  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, or Databricks.
  • Exposure to BI governance frameworks or enterprise BI environments.
  • Knowledge of other BI tools (Tableau, Qlik, QuickSight, MicroStrategy).
  • Certifications such as PL‐300, DP‐203, or DP‐600.
