Sr Manager, Product and Program Management, AMXL JP

AMXL (Amazon Extra Large) JP is looking for a Senior Manager, Product and Program Management to lead and develop a team of senior Product Managers, Technical Program Managers and Program Managers for the long-term product and programs strategy of Amazon's end-to-end Heavy & Bulky (H&B) logistics network in Japan. The ideal candidate will have a strong delivery record and senior leadership experience to drive the best customer experience in a fast, reliable and cost-efficient manner, every time.

As a leader of a core function of AMXL JP, you will shape the network, execute, develop and apply innovative product and program management concepts. This role requires working across cross-functional teams within and outside Japan. You will expand and set up the product and tech roadmap of the network, define and deliver results on key metrics, drive automation where possible, and establish requirements for system enhancements. Regular communication with senior management spanning strategy to execution is essential. People management, project management and executive presentation skills are required.

The successful candidate will have a Day 1 mindset and a deep cross-functional background in logistics, supply chain and product management, including but not limited to a 1-3 year tech roadmap, supply chain enhancements, DEX and CX improvements, and timely project implementation. P&L management experience and strong financial acumen are a plus.

The successful candidate will thrive in a constantly evolving business environment and work well with cross-functional teams. They will use data analysis skills and planning/execution expertise to lead solutions to complex challenges, quickly analyzing large data sets to identify patterns and relationships that drive operational improvements. This role involves making business-critical decisions to minimize fulfillment costs while increasing delivery speed, and it encompasses both long-term strategy and execution management-delivering on the plan as well as developing it.

The candidate should demonstrate flexibility to work as business demands. The ability to simplify complex problems with a cool head and rally the team behind the vision is essential for success in this leadership role.

  • Delivering results: Successfully deliver end-to-end complex technology and operations projects under tight timelines, working through multiple constraints
A day in the life

You spend time with Stores (Retail, FBA and MFN) teams, SCM, Finance, Operations & Tech SME orgs with the PMs on your team to deliver long-term strategic projects impacting CX, DEX, cost to serve and speed for H&B items to be delivered across Japan in the fastest way at the lowest cost, ensuring product availability across Japan. You hire, develop and motivate your team to deliver against goals using Amazon leadership principles as a role model. You lead recurring reviews with your team and senior stakeholders to drive the long-term Product and Program Strategy for AMXL.

About the team

AMXL JP is a single-threaded organization that owns Amazon's end-to-end Heavy & Bulky (H&B) logistics network with partners, offering shipping, service & support for consumers and companies in a safe, reliable, seamless, standardized, and sustainable way. Our delivery partners are experienced in H&B deliveries, providing services such as Room of Choice Delivery, Installation/Assembly and Recycling/Haul-Away.

Our team comprises a diverse group across operations, supply chain, tech, finance, planning, customer experience and program management, working closely with Amazon to improve and scale operations while upholding high standards and obsessing over delivering bigger smiles for our customers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 7+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
  • 5+ years of team management experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience engaging and influencing senior executives
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
