Job Title: Service Desk Operator – IT
Salary: £15.14 per hour
Contract: Temporary, until 31 March 2027
Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, fully office-based

We’re looking for a Service Desk Operator – IT to join a busy team and provide first-line IT support alongside essential administrative and coordination support.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys keeping things organised, working with a variety of people and making sure tasks, records and information are managed accurately and efficiently.
About the Role
Working as part of the IT team, you’ll provide administrative coordination and support across a range of IT services and activities. You’ll help keep service requests moving, maintain accurate records and documentation, coordinate meetings and actions, and support the team with supplier, procurement and asset administration.
You’ll be someone who takes pride in attention to detail, can juggle competing priorities and enjoys providing a professional and helpful service to colleagues and external contacts.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and administer IT service requests and related support activities
- Monitor and track actions arising from incidents, problems and service reviews
- Assist with reporting on service performance and operational information
- Maintain service documentation, procedures and knowledge articles
- Maintain IT asset, licence and supplier records
- Coordinate diaries and meetings
- Prepare papers, reports and briefing information
- Maintain SharePoint and other document repositories
- Assist with tracking budgets, purchase orders and invoices where required
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, suppliers and business users
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Highly organised with excellent administrative skills
- Accurate and detail-focused
- Comfortable managing multiple tasks and working to deadlines
- Confident maintaining records, files and documentation
- Experienced in arranging meetings, taking notes and tracking actions
- A good communicator, both written and verbal
- Confident using Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams
- Comfortable working with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Able to work independently while following established processes and procedures
- Professional, approachable and committed to providing good customer service
Previous experience within an IT, service desk or administrative environment would be advantageous, but we’re particularly interested in finding someone with the right organisational skills, attitude and willingness to learn.
Please note: This role is based at a secure site and is subject to the relevant security clearance requirements. Applicants must have been resident in the UK for the previous three years to meet the necessary security requirements.
