Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced AWS Business Analyst to join our team and play a key role in gathering requirements, analyzing business needs, and helping translate them into cloud-based solutions using Amazon Web Services (AWS). The ideal candidate will work closely with stakeholders, architects, developers, and product owners to deliver scalable and efficient AWS cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements related to cloud-based solutions on AWS.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate them into functional and non-functional specifications.
  • Collaborate with AWS architects and developers to ensure business needs are accurately represented in technical designs.
  • Support cloud migration initiatives and assess legacy system dependencies and transformation pathways.
  • Create user stories, use cases, process flows, and other BA artifacts in Agile environments.
  • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and backlog grooming sessions.
  • Assist in testing and validating AWS solutions to ensure alignment with business requirements.
  • Work within Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe) and support sprint planning and retrospectives.
  • Ensure documentation is up to date, including business process models and AWS architecture impact assessments.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of Business Analysis experience with at least 2+ years focused on AWS cloud-based projects .
  • Strong understanding of core AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch).
  • Experience in large-scale cloud transformation or migration projects.
  • Strong documentation skills – use cases, user stories, process flows (e.g., BPMN).
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.

Desirable Skills:

  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect – Associate).
  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Lucidchart, or Miro.
  • Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD concepts.
  • Previous experience in regulated industries (e.g., Finance, Healthcare, Public Sector).
  • Understanding of data governance and security within AWS environments.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

This role at Amber Labs is a 6 Month salary based FTC position with View to extension, and all employees are required to pass BPSS clearance . Please be advised that, at this time, we are unable to consider candidates who require sponsorship or hold a visa of any type.
