Role Summary
We are looking for a commercially accountable and delivery-focused Account Manager to support the management and growth of one of Amber Labs’ key public sector accounts, delivered in partnership with a strategic delivery partner.
This role combines operational ownership with clear commercial responsibility across the account. You will be accountable for protecting and growing contracted revenue, maintaining margin discipline, and ensuring strong forward visibility of demand, all within the constraints of public sector frameworks and governance.
Working closely with the Strategic Account Director, you will act as the link between client stakeholders, partner teams, delivery, talent, and finance. While overall P&L ownership sits with the Strategic Account Director, you will take ownership of financial performance at account level, ensuring the account remains commercially resilient as well as operationally stable.
Key Responsibilities
Own day-to-day account operations
Manage the operational rhythm of the account, including regular check-ins, reporting, pipeline tracking, and coordination across internal teams, ensuring consistency and control across all engagements.
Drive commercial performance and financial discipline
Take ownership of account-level financial performance, including revenue tracking, margin protection, and identifying risks such as leakage or underutilisation. Maintain accurate forecasting and ensure strong forward visibility of revenue.
Manage renewals, extensions, and revenue retention
Own renewal timelines, extension opportunities, and probability tracking. Proactively engage stakeholders to secure continuity of work and maximise revenue retention within framework constraints.
Proactively manage consultant lifecycle and utilisation
Oversee consultant allocations, actively managing upcoming roll-offs and mitigating bench exposure through early engagement with Talent and client stakeholders.
Maintain strong working relationships
Act as a key point of contact for client and partner stakeholders at programme and delivery level, ensuring clear communication, trust, and effective issue resolution.
Coordinate delivery oversight and governance
Maintain visibility of delivery performance, client feedback, and milestones. Ensure governance standards are met and risks are identified and addressed early, working closely with Delivery and Operations teams.
Enable growth within the account
Identify new requirements, expansion opportunities, and areas for added value. Support the Strategic Account Director in shaping proposals and positioning Amber Labs for further work.
Support governance and reporting
Prepare account reviews, contribute to partner and client governance forums, and ensure reporting is accurate, consistent, and commercially meaningful.
Internal collaboration
Work closely with Talent, Delivery, Finance, and Commercial teams to ensure alignment across pipeline, onboarding, performance, and account planning.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience managing public sector accounts within consulting, digital, or technology environments
- Strong commercial acumen, with experience managing revenue, margin, forecasting, and contract performance
- Proven ability to drive revenue retention, extensions, and forward pipeline visibility
- Experience operating within public sector frameworks, procurement processes, and governance structures
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders
- Confident building relationships across delivery, programme, and commercial stakeholders
- Proactive and detail-oriented, with a focus on identifying risks early and taking ownership of outcomes
- Comfortable balancing delivery oversight with commercial accountability in a growing consultancy environment
