Azure DevOps Engineer (SC Cleared)

12-month Fixed Term Contract | Fully Remote | UK

Amber Labs is looking for an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer to join us on a long-term digital transformation programme within the UK public sector. You'll be working as part of a delivery-focused DevOps team, supporting and evolving a secure Azure platform used at national scale. This role is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract, with a clear intention to move to a permanent position thereafter.

Due to the nature of the work, active SC clearance that can be transferred is essential.

What you'll be doing

• Building, maintaining and improving Azure IaaS and PaaS services including Logic Apps, Web Apps, Application Gateways, VNets and API Management

• Designing and managing containerised solutions using Docker or Service Fabric

• Developing and maintaining infrastructure as code using ARM Templates and/or Terraform

• Supporting and improving CI/CD pipelines using YAML and modern DevOps practices

• Managing identity and access using Azure Entra ID (AAD) and Azure AD B2C

• Writing scripts and automation using PowerShell (or equivalent)

• Working closely with engineering and delivery teams to support secure, scalable cloud environments

• Contributing to networking design, IAM policies and platform reliability

What we're looking for

Essential:

• Proven experience as an Azure DevOps or Cloud Engineer

• Strong hands-on Azure experience across IaaS and PaaS

• Containerisation experience with Docker and/or Service Fabric

• Infrastructure as Code using ARM Templates and/or Terraform

• Azure Entra ID (AAD) and Azure AD B2C

• Git-based version control

• CI/CD pipelines and YAML

• Scripting experience (PowerShell preferred)

• Active SC clearance (transferable)

Nice to have:

• SQL and Entity Framework exposure

• Public sector delivery experience

• Strong understanding of networking architecture and IAM
