About the Role
Manage the Planner/Schedulers function projects include advanced planning, scheduling, progress measurement, change management implementation and analysis. Provide expertise and best practice implementation aligned with the PMO guidance regarding the planning and scheduling discipline, co-ordinating with the client and contractor schedulers, as well as the wider controls team and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement Programme and Project Planning & Scheduling strategy, plans and procedures for Wave 1B&C, reflecting contractor roles, responsibilities and expectations.
- Coordinate development and implementation of project WBS and CBS in consultation with HDP PMO, Wave Lead, Project Lead, Project Cost Engineer and contractor project controls leads.
- Support Delivery Planning and PMO in the implementation of an integrated enterprise-based, cross-functional and programme life-cycle master schedule, providing schedule information as required.
- Promote and maintain overall alignment, integrity and integration with contractor schedules within the Programme suite of project schedules.
- Work with project teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of the schedules.
- Support HDP Wave Lead and Project Leads in building a “One Team” approach with contractors.
- Update project schedules according to the Drumbeat with the Project Lead and project team, aligned to contractor information, and using internal and external stakeholder information.
- Conduct schedule critical path and risk analysis. Undertake time and progress trend analysis, forecast analysis, and schedule accuracy reviews highlighting bottlenecks/delays; propose corrective actions.
- Identify, quantify and report variances in-month and to baseline, evaluate impacts, explain reasons and causal links.
- Where required, carry out independent forecast analysis and compare to contractor schedules.
- Carry out cross-project and portfolio reviews driving programmatic efficiencies.
- Maintain alignment and coordination with Enabler plans and ensure compliance with programme requirements.
- Support Project and Wave leadership with strategic time and progress analysis.
- Provide useful, timely and accurate schedule information to Wave and Project Leadership and teams and other users. Prepare the Integrated Monthly Project Report and specific reports/presentations.
- Change management: review proposed baseline changes, prepare scenario and impact analysis.
- Project baseline management – ensure project and programme baseline alignment and ensure updates per approved baseline changes.
Essential Skills
- A minimum of 10+ years project controls and time/schedule management experience, and providing a similar role in major, complex projects within a programme environment
- Expert experience level using Primavera P6
- Understanding of policies, methods, and procedures that includes Planning and Scheduling techniques including Earned Value Management, Risk Analysis, Risk Management, and support of project objectives.
