We’re looking for an experienced Technical Architect to join a major UK public sector digital transformation programme delivering large-scale, user-centered services used by millions across the UK.
This is an opportunity to work within a complex cloud-native environment, helping shape scalable and resilient digital platforms that manage high-volume transactions, case management, and document-driven workflows.
The Role
As a Technical Architect, you’ll work within cross-functional agile teams to design and deliver modern digital services. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, product teams, delivery managers, and stakeholders to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned to long-term architectural strategy.
You’ll also play a key role in:
- Producing solution designs and architecture documentation
- Supporting governance and design review processes
- Driving collaboration across teams and stakeholders
- Contributing to technical decision-making and delivery planning
- Ensuring solutions are cloud-native, resilient, and maintainable
Tech Environment
- AWS
- Java / Spring Boot
- JavaScript / TypeScript
- Express / Nunjucks
- MongoDB
- Terraform
- Microservices & event-driven architecture
We’re looking for someone with:
- Technical architecture or senior technical leadership experience
- Strong cloud architecture knowledge, ideally within AWS
- Experience designing scalable distributed systems
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience working in agile delivery environments
- A collaborative, hands-on mindset
- Experience working within regulated or public sector environments is highly beneficial.
Desirable Experience:
- Government Digital Service (GDS) standards
- Architecture governance and review boards
- Accessibility and security best practices
