Frontend Engineer (Deep Tech / AI Manufacturing Platform)

Location: London (Hybrid – 4 days onsite)

Package: £60,000-70,000

Visa: UK Work Eligibility Required

High-growth deep tech startup operating at the intersection of advanced manufacturing and artificial intelligence. Building software that enables real-time qualification and certification of complex industrial processes. Solving a long-standing, high-value problem that has limited adoption of next-generation manufacturing technologies across aerospace, medical, and automotive industries.

Mission-critical platform transforming complex sensor streams and 3D manufacturing data into actionable insights. Early-stage, product-driven company founded by experts in AI, materials science, and manufacturing. Strong technical culture with close collaboration across Engineering, Data Science, and Customers. Backed by experienced investors with active industry partnerships.

Candidate Profile

2+ years building and shipping frontend applications in production environments. Strong UI/UX instincts with the ability to make thoughtful design decisions without heavy design handoff. Comfortable working with complex, data-dense interfaces. Pragmatic problem-solver with strong attention to detail. Enjoys ownership, autonomy, and working closely with engineers and users.

Comfortable operating in early-stage environments where product definition and requirements evolve rapidly. Motivated by solving real-world, high-impact technical problems rather than purely

consumer-facing applications.

Company Profile:

Venture-backed deep tech business focused on industrial AI and advanced manufacturing. Platform supports engineers working with complex physical systems, large datasets, and real-time decision-making. Strong emphasis on reliability, performance, and usability in safety- and quality-critical environments. Growing customer base across highly regulated industries.

Position Overview:

Frontend Engineer responsible for building and evolving the core user interfaces of a technically sophisticated platform. Significant ownership over UI architecture, data visualisation, and performance. Direct collaboration with backend engineers, data scientists, and customers. Opportunity to shape how complex manufacturing and sensor data is presented, understood, and acted upon.

Key Responsibilities

Translate rough concepts and user needs into polished, functional interfaces. Make UI/UX decisions balancing usability, performance, and development speed. Build and enhance frontend features using React and TypeScript. Integrate frontend applications with backend systems and real-time data streams. Collaborate with data scientists to visualise complex datasets, including sensor outputs and 3D models. Participate in customer conversations to gather requirements and refine product direction. Optimise performance for large datasets and real-time updates. Implement error handling, monitoring, and production-ready frontend systems.

Technical Environment

React and modern TypeScript frameworks. Real-time data via WebSockets. Frontend testing frameworks. Performance-sensitive web applications. Exposure to 3D data and visualisation pipelines.

Working Style

High ownership and autonomy. Strong bias toward execution and practical solutions. Comfortable working with ambiguity and evolving requirements. Close collaboration across engineering, data, and customers. Rapid iteration from concept to production.

Desirable Experience

3D visualisation libraries (e.g. WebGL or similar). Data-dense or technical interfaces. Design tools such as Figma or Sketch. Exposure to backend systems. Scientific, industrial, or AI-driven software. Startup or scale-up background.

Benefits

Competitive salary with equity participation. Comprehensive healthcare. 25 days holiday plus bank holidays. Central London office. Hybrid working model. Learning budget and regular team events.

Thanks,
