Senior Systems Accountant

This interim position supports a local authority based in the Midlands. The organisation requires an experienced Oracle specialist who can provide hands-on technical and functional support across Oracle Fusion and Oracle PBCS.

The role plays a central part in maintaining financial controls, ensuring accurate system data, and supporting the finance team with smooth month-end and reporting processes. You’ll be stepping into a critical environment where strong system knowledge, attention to detail, and an ability to work autonomously are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide primary support for Oracle Fusion and Oracle PBCS.
• Maintain the Chart of Accounts and ensure alignment across all financial structures.
• Manage the organisation’s budget structures, including approval of virements and monthly reconciliations.
• Oversee movements within financial reserves, ensuring full audit trails and appropriate authorisation.
• Lead the monthly reporting cycle, including period open/close, data imports, and forecast reconciliations.
• Manage user accounts and security roles, including creation, amendments, and removal of obsolete access.
