Finance Business Analyst

An amazing law firm who truly value their staff is looking for a Finance Business Analyst to join our Finance Systems team in London. This role offers the opportunity to work on strategic projects, support global operations, and contribute to the continuous improvement of finance systems and processes.

About the Role

As a key member of the Finance Systems team, you'll be responsible for delivering change initiatives and ensuring continuity across finance operations. You'll work on a variety of projects, from implementing accounting policies and best practices to supporting system upgrades and integrations. You'll also provide day-to-day support to global finance teams, helping resolve issues and improve processes.

Key Responsibilities as the Finance Business Analyst -

Project Delivery & Business Analysis

  • Lead or contribute to finance-related projects from concept to delivery.
  • Act as a bridge between finance systems developers and stakeholders.
  • Support new office openings and restructuring initiatives.
  • Collaborate with FP&A and Financial Reporting teams on internal and external reporting.
  • Build strong relationships across finance and business services.

Finance Systems Expertise

  • Participate in system upgrades and cloud migrations.
  • Write and execute test plans, document results, and support training.
  • Configure accounting systems and ensure data integrity.
  • Perform reconciliations and support month-end/year-end processes.
  • Review and document system customisations and integrations.

Training, Documentation & Governance

  • Train global finance and business services staff on systems and policies.
  • Maintain process documentation and system security protocols.
  • Analyse reporting outputs and assess KPI specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and governance standards.

Skills & Experience

  • Experienced Finance Business/Systems Analyst or qualified accountant with strong systems aptitude.
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and group structures.
  • Proficient in tools like MS Project, Visio, and process mapping.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with law firm finance systems (e.g. Elite 3E, Chrome River) is highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Commitment to accuracy, consistency, and high standards.
