SENIOR ENGINEERING LEAD - CONTRACT

Contract Details:

• Duration: 3 months
• Location: London (2 days/week)
• Day rate: £600/day

We are looking for a Senior Engineering Lead to strategically oversee our product team and manage the transfer of software development from a third-party provider to in-house. This is a leadership-focused role, with cloud migration from GCP to Azure as a subsequent phase.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the in-house product team, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
• Oversee the transition of development activities from the current third-party provider, ensuring comprehensive knowledge transfer, documentation, and minimal disruption.
• Maintain strategic oversight of the policy admin system, guiding priorities, technical decisions, and continuous improvement.
• Act as the primary technical and strategic point of contact for stakeholders and internal teams.
• Identify and address technical debt and drive continuous improvement within the system.
• Plan and oversee the migration of the policy admin system and associated services from GCP to Azure in collaboration with Architecture and Cloud Platform teams.
• Oversee the implementation of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and cloud governance in the new Azure environment.

Requirements:

• Strong experience leading engineering teams in strategic and delivery-focused roles.
• Proven track record of overseeing complex transitions and cloud migrations ideally with Azure or GCP.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails would be preferable.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
