Job Brief

We are seeking a highly motivated Sports Trader to join our growing Trading team and help shape an engaging, customer-focused betting experience. Reporting to the Head of Sportsbook, you'll support a variety of trading activities including real-time market & retrospective risk management and data analysis.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of betting markets, an analytical background, and excellent quantitative skills. A previous role within the gambling industry would be advantageous however full training will be provided for the right candidate.

We work around the sporting calendar, so we are often in the office at evenings and weekends. You will be asked to work between the hours of 0700 – 2300.

The business remains open 365 days a year and the shifts will be focused around big sporting events although we aim to accommodate flexible working requests and promote a healthy work life balance.

Key responsibilities:

  • Monitor live sporting events and actively manage in-play betting markets and liabilities.
  • Demonstrate expertise in identifying and responding to sharp customer behaviour, ensuring market integrity and contributing to effective risk management strategies
  • Test and provide feedback on new sportsbook features, trading tools, and predictive models.
  • Analyze market movements, betting behaviour, and competitor offerings to ensure price accuracy and competitive positioning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Trading, Data and Tech teams.
  • Contribute to the continual enhancement of trading processes, tools, and market offerings.
  • Support various teams within the Trading department as needed, with a team-first and proactive mindset.
  • Operational Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Occasional travel to events or other Fanatics offices may be required.

How we Succeed

In an exciting digital business, technology is important to us and a good standard of computer literacy is important, with Microsoft Excel being one of our main tools.

The successful candidate does not need previous experience as a Trader, but needs excellent communication skills, a willingness to look at existing processes and suggest ways of improving them, as well as an ability to work both within a team and alone whilst maintaining high standards.

A keen interest across a wide range of sports with betting industry knowledge is a key requirement.

This role is ideal for a candidate who is ready to face a new challenge in the gambling industry.
