Electronics Engineer - DC/DC

Electronics Engineer - DC/DC

Our client, a high-performing global business built on customer focus, flexibility, and integrity, is looking for a capable Electronics Engineer to join their team.

Role Overview

You'll support the design, integration, and lifecycle management of electronic systems, with a particular focus on incorporating AC/DC and DC/DC power supplies into complete system solutions — covering everything from schematic design through to manufacturing transfer and field support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the electronic design lifecycle: schematic design, PCB layout, prototyping, verification, and transfer to manufacturing
  • Integrate AC/DC and DC/DC power supplies into larger systems, defining power architecture, distribution, protection, and grounding
  • Validate analogue control/monitoring signals (voltage/current setpoints, feedback loops, sensing, signal conditioning) and interface with digital control systems
  • Support communication via protocols such as PMBus, CANopen, Modbus, and SCPI
  • Perform system-level analysis (efficiency, stability, thermal, fault conditions) and support EMC pre-compliance testing
  • Conduct prototype bring-up, debugging, and fault-finding to component level
  • Produce technical documentation and support manufacturing introduction (DFM) and field issue resolution
  • Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, systems, and manufacturing engineers

Requirements

  • Degree in Electronics Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong analogue/digital electronics background, with experience integrating AC/DC and DC/DC power supplies at system level
  • Full product lifecycle experience, concept through manufacturing
  • Working knowledge of protocols such as PMBus, CANopen, Modbus, SCPI
  • Understanding of power conversion topologies, EMC, and thermal management
  • Strong fault-finding skills and lab equipment proficiency (oscilloscopes, power analysers, electronic loads)
  • 3–7 years' relevant industrial electronics experience

Desirable

  • Closed-loop control/PID knowledge, embedded systems exposure, telemetry/diagnostics experience, or familiarity with certification standards (CE, UL, IEC)
