viewThe Configuration Management Lead is responsible for establishing and governing the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and ensuring accurate tracking of IT assets, configuration items (CIs), and their relationships across the enterprise. This role plays a critical part in enabling effective IT Service Management (ITSM), supporting incident, change, and problem management proces

Key Responsibil
ities
1. Configuration Management Strategy & Gove
rnance• Define and implement the Configuration Management strategy, policies, and proc
esses.• Establish and maintain the CMDB governance framework aligned with ITIL best prac
tices.• Ensure standardization of configuration management processes across the organiz
ation.• Drive CMDB maturity and continuous improvement initia
tives.
2. CMDB Management & Data In
tegrity• Own and maintain the CMDB platform ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency o
f data.• Define CI classes, attributes, relationships, and lifecycle mana
gement.• Implement processes for CI identification, control, status accounting, and verification
/audit.• Conduct regular audits and reconciliation of CMDB data with discovery
tools.
3. IT Asset & Service
Mapping• Manage IT asset lifecycle (hardware, software, cloud res
ources).• Enable service mapping and dependency mapping across applications and infrast
ructure.• Integrate CMDB with discovery and monitoring tools for real-time
updates.• Ensure alignment between asset management and configuration man
agement.
4. Integration with ITSM
Processes• Collaborate with Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Manageme
nt teams.• Ensure CMDB supports impact analysis, root cause analysis, and change risk as
sessment.• Enable accurate service impact visibility during outages or
changes.• Drive adoption of CMDB across operatio
ns teams.
5. Tools &
Automation• Lead implementation and enhancement of tools such as ServiceNow CMDB, BMC H
elix, etc.• Leverage automation and discovery tools for CI population an
d updates.• Define integrations with monitoring, cloud, DevOps, and securit
y systems.• Improve efficiency through scripting, APIs, and automation f
rameworks.
6. Reporting &
; Analytics• Develop dashboards and reports for CMDB health, data quality, and
compliance.• Track KPIs such as data accuracy, CI completeness, audit compliance, and usa
ge metrics.• Provide insights for decision-making and operational im
provements.
7. Stakeholder & Tea
m Management• Engage with cross-functional teams (Infrastructure, Cloud, Securi
ty, DevOps).• Act as SME for configuration management processes a
nd toolsets.• Lead and mentor CMDB analysts and adm
inistrators.• Collaborate with vendors and to
ol partners.
8. Risk, Complianc
e & Audit• Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory
requirements.• Support audit activities and provide CMDB evidence
as required.• Identify risks in configuration data and implement mitiga
