An exciting opportunity has arisen for a SharePoint Developer to join our client. Based in the Leicestershire area, this role offers the chance to play a key part in shaping our digital workplace. We are seeking a highly capable SharePoint specialist with strong development skills, governance expertise, and experience in supporting Microsoft 365 environments. This role is central to the design, development, support, and governance of our SharePoint Online platform, ensuring it remains secure, scalable, and aligned with business needs. Key
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of SharePoint Online solutions, including site architecture, SPFx components, Power Automate workflows, and custom integrations.
- Act as a 3rd line support expert for SharePoint Online, resolving complex technical issues and providing escalation support.
- Implement and maintain governance frameworks, including permissions management, lifecycle policies, and compliance configurations.
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure SharePoint aligns with Microsoft Purview policies (e.g., retention labels, DLP, sensitivity labels).
- Design and deploy automation scripts using PowerShell to streamline SharePoint administration and reporting.
- Maintain high-quality documentation, technical runbooks, and knowledge base articles.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal capability development.
- Participate in change management and technical design discussions for new SharePoint services and enhancements.
About You – Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in SharePoint Online development and administration.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 governance and compliance, especially Microsoft Purview.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
- Experience with Microsoft Graph API and REST APIs.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex SharePoint issues and propose scalable solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable Qualifications and experience:
- Microsoft certifications such as MS-500, SC-400, or MS-700.
- Experience with: o Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Exchange Online o Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps and Entra ID Protection o Migrating legacy file systems to SharePoint Online o Agile or ITIL-based service management practices
